Kobe
The City of Bread and Beef
The City of Bread and Beef
Kobe is uniquely located on the Seto Inland Sea in Japan. Kobe is well known for their Kobe Beef, sake, and nearness to beautiful private Japanese onsen hot springs. It also features fantastic evening views from Mount Rokko and Mount Maya, which even earned it the title of the “10 million dollar night view”. Even after the Hanshin earthquake of 1995, Kobe has rebuilt and improved greatly.
Of all the beef in Japan, Kobe is the best, and its high quality has made it world-famous. But what makes this beef so great? For starters, its taste is heavenly. It melts like butter in your mouth. Next, it must come from the most esteemed herds. They are fed a restricted diet and treated with care and respect. There are many different ways to prepare Kobe beef, but grilling it at a specialty shop or Yakiniku restaurant is the most popular.
The food in Kobe, Japan is known for being delicious, and the pastries from the numerous small bakeries are a standout. They make fluffy and savory treats that are just perfect with a cup of coffee. Kobe has a strong cafe culture, and nothing is better than grabbing a coffee and warm pastry in the morning. I recommend checking out some of the neighborhood bakeries if you ever get the chance to visit this fantastic city. You won’t regret it.
Take a gorgeous gondola to the top of Mt Maya and look out over the Kobe-Osaka bay. This garden is filled with beautiful flowers, perfume creation spaces, adorable gifts, and the loveliest brunch restaurants. While this location is not a typical historical destination it does make for a lovely restful afternoon activity and is typically scheduled right when you need it during a package tour. If you are a fan of flowers, or even just enjoy laying in a hammock, you're going to love these gardens!
